Opposition parties hope Zuma heeds state capture call

The Economic Freedom Fighters has welcomed dates reserved for former president Jacob Zuma at the state capture inquiry.

The EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu says having Zuma answer at the Zondo Commission is long overdue.

Shivambu says Zuma must answer all allegations levelled against him.

“The EFF has been at the forefront of exposing the Gupta criminal syndicate of how they had been in control of the state,” Shivambu said.

“We continued to expose the fact that there was an unsavory relationship between Jacob Zuma and the Gupta syndicate.

The Democratic Alliance says it hopes the inquiry will hold Zuma accountable.

“The state capture inquiry must make sure that he is held accountable for the questions that need to be put to Mr. Zuma and his role one as one of the main architects of state capture,” said DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen.
