Zahara dropped a new album today, titled Mgodi.
Chatting to DJ Fresh and his team on Metro FM’s breakfast show’s Famous Friday segment, an emotional Zahara opened about her music, Somizi being one of the few friends she’s got in the industry and being labelled an alcoholic.
“I still love Somizi. I wasn’t going to sue him. Somizi is my friend,” said Zahara.
My friends in the industry are Somizi Minnie and Vusi Nova,” she added
“I wasn’t going to sue Somizi, I just want to show people that should they mess with me, I will sue them but I was never going to sue him.
This followed Somizi ‘open bar comment’ about Zahara at the SAMA Awards earlier in the year.
“Where is Zahara, she is already at the bar,” said Somizi.
“I like champagne, not too much but the thing is I asked a lady from one newspaper why so many artists in the country get uplifted by media even though they’re out there publicly drinking? But for me, you hear, you don’t see me. You hear that Zahara has a lot of alcohol at her house and then you go and write about that but there are so many people out there who drink.”
The ‘Loliwe’ hitmaker got emotional talking about her music, she insists she never make music to be famous or to make hits, she makes music to tell her story.
“I’m not here to make hits, I’m here to tell my story
