Gauteng: At 14H51 Friday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a crush injury at a construction site off Arkansas Crescent in Cosmo City Randburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult construction worker and his colleagues were laying pipes when one swung out slamming into his chest.
Medics assessed the patient and found that the had sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him.
A Netcare 911 Rescue technician, as well as fire and rescue crews, were called to assist in removing the patient from the three-meter deep trench.
Once treated the patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.

In other news – Four sustain smoke inhalation in run away veld fire
Gauteng: At 10H38 Friday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of smoke inhalation at a veld fire next to the R559 in Middelvlei AH Randfontein.
Reports from the scene indicate that four people had suffered smoke inhalation while trying to douse the flames.
All the patients were assessed on scene by medics and found to be in a stable condition. read more
