At 12H33 Monday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Msundusa Street in Sobantu Pietermaritzburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that a 77-year-old female was struck down by a mini-bus taxi.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that the patient had sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise her.
Once treated the patient was transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further treatment.
