Western Cape nurses plead for more staff

Unions representing nurses in Cape Town say they’re not coping and are asking for more staff. This amid a sharp increase in COVID-19 infections. Some hospitals are being forced to divert patients to other facilities.

Unions in the province say the only way the health department can ease the pressure on already-exhausted healthcare workers at hospitals, is by making posts available to qualified graduates.
