South Africa has paid the deposit to secure the COVID-19 vaccine. This after the country missed the December 15 deadline.
R283-million has been paid to the Vaccine Alliance to secure South Africa’s entry into the COVAX facility.
The down payment represents 15-per cent of the total cost of securing access to the vaccines.
This will enable 10-per cent of the population to access the vaccine once it becomes available.
