Residents in Johannesburg without water and electricity will have to go at least another day or two without it.
City Power says it’s working around the clock to repair infrastructure destroyed by vandalism.
On Friday night, the utility said it could be another 52 hours before restorations begin.
This has left several areas in Johannesburg without water and electricity.
A major power outage affected Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station while an outage at Orlando power station on Thursday impacted both Rand Water and Johannesburg Water.
“In the next 52 hours we will restore electricity,” said City Power’s Isaac Mangena.
“The issue of theft and vandalism is a big one.”
