Watch: Ama Qamata and Cindy Mahlangu tell us about their friendship and steamy scenes in Blood and Water

South African Netflix original Blood & Water has taken the world by storm.

The series follows a teen girl as she tries to find her long-lost sister, who was abducted at birth. It’s a high school drama filled with suspense and mystery, focused on teenagers trying to find themselves while unravelling family secrets.

“The reception has been overwhelming – we knew the show was going to do well but we didn’t expect it to do this well. People globally are enjoying it, and we’re very grateful and humbled by the response,” Ama says.

Ama and Cindy play best friends Puleng and Zama, and although the two characters are total opposites, their bond is like no other.

“It came naturally, we just clicked. From the first time I met Ama, we were like sisters. Spending time together and getting to know each other helped us bring the bond Zama and Puleng share to life,” Cindy says.
