Vodacom Durban July 2020 Theme Announced

All roads lead to Durban again this year for one of the biggest events on South Africa’s social calendar, the Vodacom Durban July! As much as this is a horse race, we know the true star of the night is the fashion.

The prestigious horse racing event will take place on Saturday 4 July at the Greyville’s racecourse. Durban July attracts thousands of punters, socialites and celebrities from all over the world as it is the biggest racing event in all of Africa.

From traditionally inspired garbs to breathtakingly glamorous outfits, this year your favorite ZAlebs will again put their best fashion foot forward for this year’s theme.

The official theme for this year’s race is ‘Butterflies’. With the count down already begun it is time to get those eyecatching and exquisites outfits ready because the fashion stakes will be very high too. The Durban July’s theme is always at the center of attention because it governs everything from the fashion, decor and the social life of the event.

While some are excited about the theme local designers have weighed in with their comments. Fashion designer Thula Sindi has clearly stated that he is not impressed with the theme. In a series of tweets, he said “Not even a kids party should be themed ‘Butterflies’. This is going to be something else – a visual assault.
