We now know the title and release date for M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable/Split crossover movie…Spoilers for Split within…
Psychological horror Split provided the best movie twist of the year when the shocking end of the movie revealed that it was actually a backdoor sequel to 2003’s superhero movie Unbreakable that seemed to set up a third movie down the line. Well, now we know that movie is absolutely happening.
Director M. Night Shyamalan shared the news on Twitter that the film would be called Glass and arrive in cinemas worldwide on January 18th 2019.
The title will instantly ring bells for Unbreakable fans. Samuel L. Jackson’s character Elijah Price was also known as ‘Mr Glass’, something he later adopted as his superhero name. It seems a dead cert, then, that Jackson will have a major role in the movie. It will obviously also star Bruce Willis as the invulnerable David Dunn and James MacAvoy as the Horde (a super-powerful being with various personalities). Glass’ role will no doubt be key to the movie: will he team up with The Horde or join with his old frenemy Dunn?
Glass is expected to bring this trilogy of linked movies to a close.
