Umgeni Water says it will be hiring contractors to take care of the water infrastructure issues affecting residents in Hillcrest in Durban.
The water services authority visited the area on Monday.
Some areas have been without water since the floods in Kwazulu-Natal.
One family had a supply pipe fall on top of their home.
