Shepherd Bushiri also known as Major 1 or Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, is a Christian preacher, motivational speaker, author and businessman from Malawi. He founded and leads a Christian non-denominational evangelical church known as the Enlightened Christian Gathering which is run from Ghana all the way to South Africa.
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has come a long way from his upbringing in Mzuzu, a city in northern Malawi.
His rise to pulpit stardom all started when he posted a video of himself “walking on air” in 2015.
Nowadays, he can fill sports stadiums with tens of thousands of his devoted followers – followers who are prepared to travel across the world to see him preach in person.
Prophet Bushiri and his wife Mary are due to appear in a South African court on charges including money laundering, fraud and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
To add to that two women from his congregation have come out claiming the pastor violated them.
The two young women sat down exclusively with eTV news to share their horrifying story of r@pe, allegedly at the hands of the self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, who offered each one R5 000 after the ordeal.
