On Monday, Redhouse was convicted for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, which was confiscated by police when he was arrested in July 2016 in Stuurman Street, Bethelsdorp.
Convicted triple murderer and known gangster 21-year-old Nealon Redhouse will only be released from jail when he reaches his seventies.
A provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said Redhouse was slapped with an eight-year sentence for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition of which four years would run concurrent with other lengthy sentences.
A 9mm pistol, bulletproof vest and two cellphones were recovered.
Naidu said this firearm was linked to several cases of murder and serious crimes. Redhouse is already serving sentences for murder.
In February last year, he was sentenced to an effective 18 years for two other murders and a string of additional charges, committed in November 2015.
In July last year Redhouse and Deon Harmse, 24, who was convicted for the murder of 12-year-old Aliya “Angel” Tee, were each sentenced to an effective 30 years behind bars by the Port Elizabeth High Court.
The pair were earlier found guilty of the schoolgirl’s murder and the attempted murder of her parents, Candice and Edmund Tee.
They were also convicted on charges relating to posing as police members and housebreaking with intent to commit murder.
A total of 89 years’ imprisonment were imposed on the duo, of which 30 years will be effectively served.
Redhouse will only start serving his 30-year sentence after he has completed serving his 18-year sentence for the murder cases committed in 2015.
Naidu said that, effectively, Redhouse would now sit in prison for a period of 52 years.
