Tom Moyane to learn his fate

Former SARS commissioner Tom Moyane will know on Tuesday if he’ll get his job back.

The North Gauteng High Court is expected to deliver its judgment.

Moyane wants the court to overturn his dismissal and prevent the Sars Commission of Inquiry from submitting its final report to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The president fired Moyane on the recommendation of Judge Nugent’s interim report.

But Moyane argues his disciplinary hearing should not have happened at the same time as the Sars Commission.

Moyane took over the revenue service in 2014.

Since then, it’s had a revenue collection shortfall of about R100-billion.
