At 18H52 Saturday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R102 Northbound just passed King Shaka International Airport in Tongaat.
Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi, light motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle were involved in a collision.
Medics assessed the scene and found that one person was entrapped in the car and two in the bakkie.
Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free the patients from the vehicles while being stabilised by Advanced life support paramedics.
Once treated all the patients were transported by various ambulances to hospital for further treatment.
