This is why Senzo Meyiwa’s Mother agreed to be a Part of His Documentary

The release date of Senzo Meyiwa‘s documentary is fast approaching and regardless of what people might think of it, his family is happy that it will be released.

Speaking to Daily Sun the anguished mother revealed that the documentary has been in the works since 2019! According to her neighbours, family and friends have also been interviewed. This documentary is about Senzo’s life – from childhood to death. But the main focus of the series is to bring Senzo’s killers to book.”

Now the real reason she agreed to being a part of this five-part series is so she could allegedly get the ‘lump sum’ she was promised.

“I needed the money and I agreed to do it but we hope the series will finally see the killers being brought to justice for Senzo’s murder,” she told the publication. Ntombifuthi Meyiwa said her part of the film is to talk about how Senzo’s passing affected her husband and Senzo’s father which ultimately lead to his death. She said the family has been thrusted back into poverty since the late goalie was their breadwinner.

But she obviously could not unpack more about the series until it’s release. She and her granddaughter, Senzo’s daughter Namhla Meyiwa are both extremely happy about this documentary as it will shine the light on their lives after his passing.

It was previously reported that Namhla was struggling financially but thanks to PSL general manager, Andile “Ace” Ncobo, she received some help financially.

Ace believes that Senzo’s child should not be reminded of his absence by facing hunger so he will commit to sending her R1 500 until she turns 21. He told DailySun, “Senzo embodied the full spirit of football and was an agent for social cohesion. It’s in the memory of that spirit that his child should never be reminded of his absence by hunger pangs.”

But Zandie Khumalo is not so keen about this documentary, in fact if her name gets brought up, she will sue the company.

She slammed this and said it is a money making scheme, “I don’t think there’s anything a documentary can do to help the situation, it’s people just making money out of an unfortunate situation and I don’t need to clear my name for anything,” she told Daily Sun.

Zandie distanced herself from the documentary saying nobody approached her for a feature or comments. “Nobody approached me. No feelings really. I don’t even know what it’s really about so it’s hard for me to feel anything. All I’m hoping is that my name won’t be on the doccie without my consent because then I will have a problem.
