Telkom reports drop in revenue

Telkom is reporting a drop in revenue in the quarter to end-December. This is despite the growth of its mobile business.

The country’s third-largest mobile operator says the growth could not offset the decline of its fixed-line business.

Group revenue dipped by 2.3 percent year on year. Telkom says its IT services unit was also affected by the global chip shortage.

The company says it will focus on its mobile market which has grown by 10 percent. Telkom’s share price fell by more than 8-percent to R46 on Monday morning.
