
The carnage caused by taxi violence has left thousands of Cape Town commuters stranded.
On Monday night, a flood of people scrambled to find alternative means of transport home after Golden Arrow suspended some of its services.
The bus company’s currently operating at only 50 percent capacity after a driver was shot in the face.
According to Golden Arrow, this incident is believed to be linked to the ongoing taxi violence.
It says the main bus route that’s impacted is Nyanga.
On Monday morning, the Langa taxi rank also descended into chaos when two men fired shots at police and metro police officers.
The two suspects were arrested and two firearms and ammunition were confiscated.
After a deadly week of taxi violence, authorities remain on high alert.
