Gauteng: Late Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the corners of Garland Street and Booysens Road in Ophirton, Johannesburg.
Reports indicate that the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control, crashing into a store.
On assessment medics found the driver had sustained moderate injuries and entrapped in the vehicle.
Four other people had also sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
Netcare 911 with Fire Ops used hydraulic tools to free the man from the twisted metal.
Once stabilised all the patients were transported to hospital for further care.
