21-year-old student kidnapped by ex-boyfriend & his friend – Raped and stabbed in the bushes

She was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend and his friend at her rented room on Sunday, 27 June. They put her in the boot of a car and drove to Nzhelele in Venda, Limpopo.

The car’s description was shared on social media and residents of Ha-Mphaila spotted it in the bushes, where the 21-year-old student was allegedly raped by one of the men and stabbed with an object.

A community member who found the woman alerted residents, and they cornered the thugs and assaulted them.

But one managed to escape while the other one got trapped in the car, which residents burnt with the petrol the men intended to burn the victim with. The man was saved by police while the badly injured woman was taken to hospital.

Her mum told the publication she was hopeful her daughter would recover.

“My child is in serious pain. We want the suspects arrested. They hit her with a steel bar on the head, which left her unconscious. She regained consciousness and screamed for help, but the suspects revved the car so no one could hear her,” she said.

Joshua Simango of the South African Youth Congress said he was very shocked.

“These evil thugs drove many kilometres to do this. They even bought petrol to burn the innocent woman,” he said.

“This goes to show that women will continue to be victims if we don’t do something to stop it.”

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said they arrested one man and launched a manhunt for the other suspect, who ran away.

“The arrested suspect is under police guard in hospital.

“Cases of kidnapping, rape, and attempted murder were opened.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the second suspect is urged to contact Sergeant Thabelo Victor Ndou on 071 401 3203, 015 973 5202 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111.
