The state capture inquiry continues to hear aviation-related testimony on Thursday. Acting head of Supply Chain Management at the South African Airways Technical, Schalk Hendrik Human will testify before the commission.
On Wednesday, SRS Aviation’s Sibongile Sambo testified. She detailed a components tender which also involved US company AAR.
Sambo says AAR representative Cheryl Jackson was under so much pressure to close the deal, she went to the extent of asking her for information to help strengthen their case.
She also said that former SAA Technical board chairperson Yakhe Kwinana allegedly demanded R100-million kickback to push the deal in AAR’s favour.
