100s of miners refuse to resurface at Springs mine

Hundreds of miners have refused to resurface at the Gold One mine in Springs.

The sit-in is the second protest over labour disputes and union recognition at the mine.

Mine owners halted production in November as the conflict between workers and mine management continued.

Workers were calling for the union AMCU to be formally recognized as their representative.
