Skolopad’s SAMA24 red carpet preparations

TshisaLIVE caught up with Skolopad, who is in prep mode for the 24th annual South African Music Awards taking place in Sun City on June 2.

The Samas are almost here, which means we have to mentally prepare ourselves for what we may see on that red carpet. You know how it goes, there’s always the good, the bad and the Skolopad.

She didn’t want to take away her element of surprise, but she let us in on her progress so far. To give us an idea of what to expect, she answered a few questions.

What will be different about your look this year?

Well, firstly,  I’ve cut my hair. That is a big change and you know what they say about a woman who cuts her hair.

What kind of dress are you looking at shocking us with: long or short?

I can’t tell you that, but it’s a beautiful, almost normal, dress.

You’ve dressed in white sheets, in scraps of cloth, in full-length dresses, in the grass and in wors. Do you think you can out-do yourself?

Yes, always. I mean, I do whatever makes me happy at that moment and if SA loves it or hates it or is shocked by it, is their own baby.

Will you be showing skin? It is winter, you know…

Well, it’s not my usual extreme kind of revealing. But then again, that will depend on the people watching.

Is there any food item on your dress this time?

No, not this time.

Is there a theme you are working with?

No, but the dress will show off my softer side. You know, to show people that I am a sweetheart.

YIKES! K’SAZOBALIT!

Skolopad said she’s made sure that she’s got time off from work to prepare and that she will be making her way to Sun City at least two days before the main event.

In case you may have forgotten, Mzansi was actually introduced to Skolopad on a red carpet. It seems like so many years ago, but it actually was just last year.

She rocked up in a yellow dress that had the whole Sata Afrika shooketh!
