Second suspect in Senekal riots granted bail

Stefanus Johannes Fourie, the second man charged with malicious damage to property, arson, and attempted murder has been granted bail in the Senekal Magistrate’s Court.

Andre Pienaar, the first accused, was also granted bail in the High Court in Bloemfontein earlier on Monday.

The two men were part of a group that clashed with police when two suspects appeared for the murder of farm manager, Brendin Horner earlier this month.

Violence broke out when a group demanded that the two suspects be released to them.

Shots were fired in the courthouse, and a police vehicle torched.
