Rescuers are continuing to dig through mud and rubble to find a missing woman in Dassenhoek, Durban.
The devastating floods have left more than 60 people dead and forced more than a thousand from their homes.
All levels of government have been mobilised to assist the ravaged parts of KwaZulu-Natal and financial and other aid will be provided to those in need.
President Cyril Ramaphosa visited flood-ravaged communities on Wednesday with promises of assistance.
