Scoop Makhathini and Ms Cosmo score a major deal
Popular media personalities Siyabonga “Scoop Makhathini” Ngwekazi and Nonqaba “Ms Cosmo” Rwaxa have scored a major deal.
The two have a popular podcast titled POPcast, which has over three million views and is aimed at teaching people about the hip-hop industry and trends as well as offering insider access into the business of entertainment.
It is now set to make its debut on Channel O.
It will air on the popular music channel through a four-episode special, starting in October.
According to the producers of the show, the special will feature interviews with DJ Sabby, Ayanda MVP, Smash Afrika and Loot Love.
It will explore all facets of the entertainment industry – from music to management and publicity. It will also provide commentary based on the latest news.
Director of local channels at M-Net Nomsa Philiso said they were excited about this great move.
“Channel O continues to not only keep up with the industry times and trends, but to also lead them and push content forward. We strive to give our audience content that is topical, timely and unique in both its presentation and voice,” she said.
Reacting to the news, the popular duo said in a statement: “It’s a dream come true for all of us. Thank you to everyone who keeps supporting us and tuning in. Shout out to Channel O.”
This big announcement follows directly after MacG scored a similar deal to have his popular podcast also air on the channel.
