e.TV’s Scandal celebrates a milestone

AWARD-WINNING soapie, Scandal!, has hit their 4000th episode shortly after celebrating 17 years of being on air.

The e.tv soapie that premiered on 10 January 2005 aired the big episode on Tuesday, 18 January, and they have been celebrating on social media.

For the past two weeks, they have been getting old cast and crew members to speak about the show and their journey.

The people included Real Housewives of Durban star, Sorisha Naidoo, Bongile Mantsai, Lusanda Mbane, Refilwe Madumo, Emmanuel Castis and more. They all congratulated the soapie on the milestone.

Scandal! also asked their fans on social media to share some of their fondest memories from the past years.

Facebook user Amanle Ngqidi wrote: “When Lucky (Tino’s adopted son) was stabbed to death by the street kids he used to stay with, yho I’ve never cried so much for a TV character.”

Joanna Formichetti commented: “When Daniel slept with Maletsatsi, and Maletsatsi confided in Gloria, I thought Gloria was gonna tell everyone luckily she kept her secret. That was the first and the last time Gloria kept a secret lol.”

A fan from Kenya, Aus Turu congratulated Scandal!.

“It has been a learning experience in the drama and scandals. True love exists, workplace jealousy, different family backgrounds, infidelity in relationships and marriages, parenting, disease awareness like cancer, women in entrepreneurship. The head writer of the production, Grace Mahlaba, said they are proud of the people behind the soapie.

“Ochre, the production company, is super proud of the team of brilliant professionals who have sweated blood and tears to bring 4 000 top quality episodes to South African audiences, discovering extraordinary new talents along the way,” she said.
