The ANC National Executive Council has not officially received a report compiled by its Integrity Committee on Secretary-General Ace Magashule.
ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe said the party is aware of information from the report being publicised, but made it clear that the leak of the report will not force the party’s hand.
The Integrity Commission report recommended that he step aside.
The commission also said Magashule should be suspended pending the outcome of his criminal case.
Magashule is currently facing 21 charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering linked to his time serving as the premier in the Free State.
Mabe shared the secretary-general would be working as usual until the normal processes of the party are completed.
“Magashule remains SG of ANC and will do the work he is expected to be doing. The National Executive Committee is fully aware of processes that are to be undertaken. the last NEC that we had, where the NEC was closed by the president, his closing was made open to the media, did outline what is happening going forward…”
The processes will likely wait until 2021, as Mabe said the party will schedule a discussion on the report in its calendar for next year.
The spokesperson asked that ANC members desist from leaking information that may sponsor division in the organization.
