SASSA said people have experienced significant financial hardships as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“There are many individuals and families struggling to make ends meet, which is why the South African government introduced the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. Financial assistance is provided to those who are most in need with the help of this grant,” it said.
Here are the Sasaa grant payment dates for June 2023:
- Older Persons Grant – 2 June
- Disability Grant – 5 June
- Children’s Grant – 6 June

Sassa said for people, especially the R350 SRD grant recipients, to confirm the actual payment date, applicants are advised to check their application status online.
Sassa also advised that payments for old age pensions, disability grants and child support grants will be made on the dates specified and recipients do not have to rush to collect their grants on the payment date.
“Their cards or accounts will be credited with the funds,” said Sassa.
The agency said to avoid any payment delays, recipients are encouraged to ensure their banking information is up-to-date.
