Sunday Sun reported that the producers of Imbewu: TheSeed have decided to reduce their staff’s salaries hence they believed that they are earning “too much”. This was said to have angered some of the staff because not all actors are affected by this heartbreaking move. Actors that are allegedly not affected include, Tony Kgoroge, Melusi Yeni, Thembi Mtshali and of course Leleti Khumalo who also happens to be the show’s executive producer.

According to a published article on Sunday Sun, various sources from the production team stated that the news of their salary cuts were vaguely delivered to them and there hasn’t been a proper and thorough engagement from the producers. The inside sources allege that some of their salaries were reduced by R10,000 from their original package.

Imbewu

This is not the first time whereby the behind the scenes drama had ensued at the Imbewu offices, the producers of the show had to relieve Mpumelelo Bhulose, who portrayed the character of the Bhengu patriarch, Zimele Bhengu.

Word on the streets is that, the talented actor had an arrogant streak that irked his superiors. Other claims include being bitterly disrespectful to his fellow cast mate and also the executive producer, Leleti Khumalo, whom he allegedly refused to take orders from her citing that it’s because she is his peer.
