SA Uber Eats delivery drivers mount a protest

Uber Eats delivery drivers in some parts of Gauteng have halted deliveries on Saturday in protest over low pay and poor working conditions. The drivers allege they’re getting paid just R4 per kilometre travelled to bri eased and want an Uber Eats office to be established where they can report their grievances.

Duane Bernard, a representative of some of the protestors, said the company has ignored their concerns.

Bernard said drivers are at risk for the crime with certain delivery options and need more control.

The protestors have stated they have given the company until Wednesday, next week to respond to their concerns.
