The South African Medical Association is accusing the Limpopo Health Department of risking the lives of two doctors. Both tested positive for COVID-19 and were in self-isolation. It’s alleged they were then forced into quarantine at a multi-drug resistant TB hospital.
COVID-19: More medical personnel wanted in Limpopo The department is denying the allegations. It says there’s a personal vendetta against the MEC of Health Dr Phophi Ramathuba.
“The allegations are misdirected. The MEC for health is not responsible for the implementation of protocols and guidelines. If anything, I am the accounting officer of the Department of Health. If there were any allegations levelled, they should be levelled to me and the MEC…” said Limpopo Health HOD, Thokozani Mhlongo.

The star took to Instagram recently to share his sadness at the death of a second person in SA to the virus, calling it “a sad moment in our country. He added that it was time for South Africans to unite in prayer for those affected by the virus. We pray for comfort to the families and the rest of the world.
