Ruud Krol not coming to PSL

The former Orlando Pirates coach was linked with a return to the PSL for some time and during the course of the 2017/18 season, Krol’s name came up on numerous occasions as one of those linked with Kaizer Chiefs as a potential replacement for Steve Komphela.

A return to the PSL for Ruud Krol for the beginning of next season has been ruled out after the Dutch coach secured a coaching job elsewhere.

However, it has since emerged that the Dutch mentor will be in charge of Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, which will be the second time for him in as many years.

It has been reported in various media outlets locally and outside of South Africa that Krol has signed a one-year contract with Sfaxien to mark his return to the club.

The news of the 69-year-old coach’s return to the club has also been confirmed by the Tunisian club.

During his first stint with the club, Krol coached the side between October 2012 and December 2013. He won the Tunisian league title and the CAF Confederation Cup with the team.
