WATCH: 13-year-old Boy crashes stolen Range Rover

A 13-year-old Australian is lucky to be alive after he crashed a stolen car into a tree on the Gold Coast on Thursday, 7 April.

According to the Daily Mail, the teen was left badly hurt following the crash.

It’s reported that the cops were called to the scene at about 6.35 am after the Range Rover crashed into surrounding bushland.

Police commissioner Katarina Carroll slammed the boy after he took to Instagram and posted a video of himself celebrating that he had survived a car accident.

“Celebrating silly things like that is tragic and unfortunate,” she said.

Cops allege that the car is one of two which were stolen from the neighbouring suburb of Carrara on Tuesday night.

The publication reports that the teen has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, receiving tainted property, unlicensed driving, and careless driving.

“The boy was found nearby the crash scene and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition,” the article read.

He is expected to appear at a children’s court later this month.
