The 54-hour water shutdown for maintenance work has wrapped up with minimal disruption.
On Monday morning, Rand Water began installing a new valve as part of a R600-million upgrade.
The City of Johannesburg says that residents can now breathe a sigh of relief after maintenance work on the B11 bulk supply line of Rand Water went by with minimum impact on households.

The city says the installation of the butterfly valve on the 2, 500mm diameter line has now been completed and recharging of the pipeline has commenced.
