Court dismisses Thales’ bid to challenge racketeering charges

The High Court in Pietermaritzburg on Friday dismissed – with costs – French arms company Thales and Jacob Zuma’s bid to challenge the racketeering charges against them.
The former president and Thales face corruption, racketeering, and money laundering charges linked to the arms deal.
This means the trial will now proceed.
The National Prosecuting Authority welcomed the ruling.
Spokesperson Sipho Ngwema, said, “The National Prosecuting Authority welcomes the High Court’s decision in dismissing the application of Thale’s – the French arms company when it challenged the racketeering charges.”
