One dead, another seriously injured in R21 collision

Gauteng: At 09H44 Monday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the corners of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Gilda Street in Garsfontein Pretoria.

Reports indicate that a Ford ranger and a Ford bantam bakkie were involved in a head-on collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver of the Bantam bakkie had showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene.

The Gauteng Provincial Government Rescue Unit had to use hydraulic tools to free the man’s body from the wreckage.

The driver of the Ranger bakkie had sustained moderate injuries and once treated was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
