Provincial Command Council gives COVID-19 update

The Provincial Command Council will provide an update on COVID-19 in for Gauteng on Thursday. The number of COVID-19 deaths in South Africa is at 18. There are currently 1,845 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Gauteng has 782 cases followed by the Western Cape with 495 and KwaZulu Natal 354.

In other news – President Ramaphosa speaks on extending the lockdown

Staying indoors has been considered an effective way to restrain the spread of the deadly virus.  President Cyril Ramaphosa says the lockdown plays a major role in curbing the spread of the coronavirus.

The nation will know in a few days whether the 21-day lockdown will be extended or not. Ramaphosa announced that in the next few days, the government will assess the effectiveness of the lockdown and whether it should be extended. Read more
