A global luxury packaging supplier with offices in the USA, Europe and Africa is looking for a Product and Packaging Designer to join their team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities of a full time mid/senior product/packaging designer will include but not be limited to:

Oversight of active projects and project workflow management
Conceptual packaging design
3D Modelling and rendering for presentation to clients
Review of conceptual design presentations in collaboration with graphic designers
2D conceptual sketches and designs, in Illustrator, Corel draw, Photoshop
Working in collaboration with New Product Development department to cost and sample concepts

Qualifications and experience:

National diploma or bachelor’s degree in industrial design/packaging design/relevant degree
Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design
Packaging design experience
An understanding of mass production
Understanding of the luxury goods sector
Prototyping in greyboard and cardboard
Minimum of 4 years’ design experience
Portfolio of exceptional design work
Knowledge of the printing industry and DTP
Strong initiative and independence
Solid aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colours, fonts and layouts
