Shock as s.e.x starved police officer handcuffs and rape thief on his knees

The cops picked up the man, allegedly assaulted him, and drove around with him in the police van.

Later, when it was only a cop and the victim in the van, the officer told the handcuffed victim to stand on his knees.

Then the constable allegedly turned the victim around and raped him from behind.

The 31-year-old Nyanga, Cape Town cop has been taken into custody.

Independent Police Investigating Directorate (Ipid) spokeswoman, Grace Langa, said the cops were called to Junction Mall on Thursday (2 December), where security guards suspected a man wanted to steal clothes at a Jet Store.

“Upon arrival, they handcuffed and assaulted him and put him at the back of the police van,” said Langa.

“They took him to Browns Farm satellite office where the police passengers got out and the driver drove with him to Nyanga Police Station.”

She said the driver picked up a female officer and dropped her off at Crossroads.

And then he allegedly drove with the victim to the bushes near the airport, where he stopped and opened the door.

He told the victim to kneel while he was still handcuffed in the police vehicle and raped him.

“He then drove with the victim to his own address in Khayelitsha, where he put on civilian clothes and later took the victim home to Gugulethu,” she said.

According to Langa, the victim allegedly contacted his cousin, who is a police officer, and asked him to come to his house, where he told him what happened.

“A SAPS member stationed at Nyanga Police Station was arrested and detained,” she said.

Langa said he will appear in court On Tuesday, 7 December.

Nyanga station commander Brigadier Vuyisile Ncata said they were embarrassed.

Martin Makhasi, Nyanga Community Policing Forum chairman, said they were sad, but they’ll soldier on in strengthening their partnership and efforts to deliver a safer environment for the Nyanga community.

Resident Luzuko Khwatsha (45) said different incidents involving Nyanga cops needed serious attention.

“You would swear they are doing all the bad things on purpose. We still have three police officers who reported to work drunk, and two were arrested for robbery,” Luzuko told the publication.

The incident happened at a time when Mzansi is observing 16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children.
