Seven injured in Parktown taxi crash

Gauteng: At 20H19 Saturday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Jan Smuts Avenue in Parktown Johannesburg.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control crashing into a light pole.

Medics assessed the scene and found that seven people had been injured.

One person, an adult female sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic while the fire and rescue services used hydraulic tools to free her.

Six other patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Once stabilized all the patients were transported by various ambulance services to the hospital for further treatment.
