The Airports Company says baggage sorting issues at OR Tambo International Airport have been resolved.
Last week’s technical glitch saw several bags left behind as travellers continued on their journeys.
Several flights were also delayed to allow for baggage to be loaded.
Authorities are denying the issue was a result of a lack of maintenance.
They say it was caused by an incident that broke the electro-mechanical sensor.
Acsa says it’s working around the clock to ensure the baggage backlog is cleared up as soon as possible.
