At 07H58 Thursday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R549 near the Ekuthuleni cemetery in Heidelberg. Reports from the scene indicate that two mini-bus taxis were involved in a collision collision.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one adult male sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Two adult patients sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise them.
Another Sixteen patients sustained minor injuries and treated on scene.
Once stabilised all the patients were transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
