OJ Simpson to be cremated

OJ Simpson died at age 76 on 10 April following a cancer diagnosis and will allegedly be cremated, People reported — according to the publication, his long-term lawyer Malcolm LaVergne said his brain will not be donated for scientific research.

According to the publication, speaking about his client’s death, Malcolm LaVergne revealed that OJ Simpson would be cremated. Arrangements for his funeral service are yet been finalised.

“His entire body, his brain, everything, his fake hips, his fake knees, everything. That all goes into the crematorium,” LaVergne was quoted as saying.

NBC News also reported that LaVergne shared that on: “At least one occasion, someone has called saying he’s a CTE guy who studies the brain,” expecting to study whether OJ had a chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy is a brain disorder, most likely caused by repeated head injuries. This often occurs for many footballers. OJ died last week, surrounded by his loved ones according to a family statement.

“Our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,” the family statement read. “He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace,” the statement read.OJ Simpson avoided jail in 1995 when he was cleared in criminal court of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson (35) and her friend Ron Goldman (25), in what was dubbed the “trial of the century.”

According to IOL, he was ultimately found liable for their deaths in a civil case which was brought by the families two years later. OJ was reportedly ordered to pay a whopping $33.5 million (an estimated R630 million) in compensation. However, Business Insider has recently reported that OJ died owning a huge sum to the Goldman’s and Nicole’s family, Business Insider reported.

Recently, the Goldman family reportedly said their pursuit will not end despite OJ’s death, according to the New York Post. On Saturday, David Cook, a lawyer for Fred Goldman, Ronald’s father was interviewed in the matter. He was reported to have said that he could not elaborate on their plans to acquire the money. The judgment will be pursued as before,” Cook was quoted as saying.
