The gold mining sector has not reached an agreement on mineworkers’ wages this week.
Unions are rejecting the offer from four of the big gold producers, AngloGold Ashanti, Harmony, Sibanye-Stillwater and Village Main Reef.
The offers range ranged from 6 to 7.2 percent for entry-level employees and 3.5 to 4.5 percent for miners, artisans and officials.
The National Union of Mineworkers, Solidarity, Uasa and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union are demanding pay increments between 10 and 15 percent.
Discussions will resume next week.
