16 people have been killed in a horror crash on the N2 highway in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Most of the deceased are believed to be children.
A 17th person – a child – is fighting for his life in hospital after sustaining critical injuries.
The accident, happened between Pongola and Itshelejuba.
The crash reportedly involved a truck and a bakkie that was transporting school pupils.
Emergency services are on the scene and the cause of the crash is unknown at this stage.
