In a recent interview, Babes Wodumo said she would be getting her own reality show with Mzansi Magic.
“The reality show will not be scripted,” she said.“I want people to see how I prepare for performances.
She claimed the first season would cost about R3 million, including appearance fees and production costs.
But the channel has said there are no such plans for a show about the 23-year-old singer, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane.
In the interview with the Sunday Tribune, Babes said shooting was expected to begin next week.
“Fans will see that I’m crazy. People close to me will tell you that,” said Babes.
“I’m free spirited and what I do isn’t just for the cameras. It’s who I am. It will be very entertaining.”
But head of publicity at M-Net Local Entertainment Channels, Nondumiso Mabece, said: “We don’t have a programme that has been commissioned regarding Babes Wodumo.
“We’ve seen a number of reality show proposals centered around various personalities, including Babes. But we don’t have a commissioned programme.”
Several attempts to get hold of Babes and her team were unsuccessful.
