SA actors who were fired for their controversial drama! In recent years Mzansi has become an entertainment powerhouse not only in Africa but the world at large.
Several soapie actors have made a thrust in the international stage, however, despite that, some of them have made headline for wrongs reasons in their respective soapie operas.
1. Dineo Langa
The actress recently revealed that she was axed from The Queen Mzansi, after producers of the show refuted the allegations before. Dineo was allegedly fired after asking for a three-month break to shoot a movie.
2. Rami Chuene
The actress was allegedly fired from The Queen Mzansi after she weighed in on Vatiswa Ndara’s exploitation saga with The Fergusons. According to the actress, her exit was not a smooth one, hence her dramatic and very sudden chop. Reports also stated that she and the production company Ferguson Films did not end things on a good note. Just to show how bad things are, the two are alleged to be taking things to court.
3. Mangaliso Ngema
The actor was fired from Lithapo after actress Lorraine Moropa, opened up about being a victim of sexual harassment from a senior actor on Lithapo. Although the name of the actor was not revealed because of legal reasons, Lorraine’s fellow sisters and brothers in the television industry circulated an image of Mangaliso Ngema, in light of this situation.
4. Thulani Shange and Sizwe Khumbuza
The actors were allegedly shown the door on Uzalo, after they were apparently not seeing eye-to-eye with the Uzalo team as they were no longer in their good books. A few months later, Thulani made a surprising return to the show, whilst Sizwe took the lead on the SABC 1 series, Amazing Grace.
5. Fundiswa Zwane
Actress Fundiswa Zwane has reportedly been let go from her role as Madonsela in eTV drama, Imbewu: The Seed. The actress, according to a report by Isolezwe was allegedly let go after her manager requested a pay increase for the actress. Fundiswa’s exit is said to have come as a surprise to her as she was unaware of her exit. She will be allegedly replaced by Brenda Mhlongo. A source told the publication claims that Brenda was told by others that she was no longer working on the drama and that Brenda would be replacing her as she was away from work.
6. Mlamli Mangacala
The actor was allegedly fired from The Queen after his salary adjustment drama with the producers of the show. The Fergusons are known to showing cast members the door when they request for more money, leading Mlamli to become one of their many victims.
7. Sibonile Ngubane
The captivating actor started gaining massive support, as a man who is dangerously in love, after killing his family for MaNgcobo. Now, everything has to come to an end and unfortunately for the actor, he was allegedly axed from the show and reasons were not given. Attempting to get Ngubane to comment on the issue, he advised Isolezwe that he is not at liberty to discuss Uzalo’s dealings and that he does not want to spoil anything for viewers. “It is illegal for me to discuss the dealings of Uzalo. People should just watch the show and they will see what is going to unfold, I do not have any knowledge of what you are asking me,” Ngubane commented.
8. Katlego Maboe
Following the damaging accusations made by his ex-wife Monique Muller, Katelgo had immediately been axed by his afternoon talk show, Expresso. He had also been dropped by major brands who he had been endorsed by, most notably, Outsurance.
