Motsoaledi Setumo dumps Motsweding after tension with LTK

Former The Queen actress Motsoaledi Setumo has left Motsweding FM just four months after being on the afternoon drive show.

Motsoaledi according to Sowetan will be returning to TV but one of her deciding factors to leave the station was because of the tension between her and co-host Lucky “LTK” Komanisi.

“I did get an offer to return to TV and I’m going to be needed on set for 12 hours and with the dynamics of the show, my decision was made easy. I would have loved to stay on both, but the dynamics on the show were just not working out,” she told the publication.

“I don’t know what to say because we didn’t know each other on a personal level or anything like that. I don’t know why but we just didn’t gel as a team.

“I’m not the first person to leave the show – I’m the third – that tells you a lot about this person we are working with.”
Lucky when asked about the alleged “tension” but a source told the publication that there was tension between the hosts.

“She felt like he was hoarding the mic and she was not given enough room to express herself and run the show,” the source told Sowetan.

“Mo just didn’t cut it. She couldn’t keep up with the pace of the show.

“She was out of depth most of the time and dragged down, not only the main host but the listeners at home. She sounded uninterested and distant, if not withdrawn. She didn’t have what it took for a show of that calibre.”

Motsoaledi, on the other hand, denies trying to take over as she understood her role on the show but says Lucky “felt intimidated”.

“I understand that I joined the show as a co-host and LTK as an anchor. I can’t be expected to lead a show and we must all play our parts.

“I guess he felt that I was there to take over the show because of my brand and maybe he felt intimidated.”

The actress joined the station in 2018 and has been off-screen since her departure from Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen.
