SAPS: Suspects killed in Marrianhill shootout are from most-wanted gang

Police are working on an active crime scene in Marrianhill, west of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, where nine suspects have been shot and killed.

Police have revealed that this is a gang that has been terrorizing the community for some time.

It is the second shooting incident involving police and criminals in five months.

Police say they have been looking for this group for some time now.

It’s believed they were behind a number of crimes including rape, robberies, and break-ins in this area.

Officers also said the gang emerged after another notorious group was killed last year.

Police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda: “This area, since the last shootout sometime last year it has been quiet, but these boys have taken over. They wanted to be the new it guys as far as crime is concerned.”

Police have also recovered two firearms on the scene.
